The edition separates expenditure from benefit, names the bearer of each cost, bounds claims about AI memory and experience, and develops governance portability and distinct exit consequences. Its proposed instruments remain unvalidated.

How to compare and cite
Cite the edition, chapter or page, and direct publication URL. Do not combine historical and revised passages as though they make identical claims. The Second Edition revises categorical substrate claims and rough grief timelines; analogies and proposed measurements retain their stated limits.
